Bright Lights, Big City

This Winterim will have students exploring several arts institutions and organizations in the Front Range through daily, experiential activities. Every day we will actively work with local artists, and we will learn about the excitement and challenges that result from their chosen careers.

We will spend time at the Arvada Center, taking classes on a variety of topics, which may include stage combat, African drumming, collage, and more. We will also explore the aerial arts at Frequent Flyers Aerial Dance Studio, where students will get to try out their aerial circus art skills.

We will spend an evening in Denver, taking in the award-winning musical Boop!, an exciting show about the popular 20th-century cartoon character produced at the Denver Center of the Performing Arts. We will stay in Denver overnight and return to campus the following day.

Finally, we will collaborate with visiting artists on campus and local artists in their studios for workshops on playwriting, improv, taiko drumming, and more.

*Students will be staying overnight after seeing Boop! at the DCPA on Wednesday, March 10th.
